Why Change is Necessary in Your Yoga Practice

Do you ever just feel like you’ve officially reached a plateau? Maybe it’s in your workspace or with your family, but no matter the source we often reflect that stress within our yoga practice. We all know it can be difficult to release the stress of everyday obstacles when we sit down on our mat and try to find our heart.

This blog post explores why we feel that making small adjustments to our yoga routine or meditation space can help with the added tension and be so valuable to our growth both mentally and physically. Below are a few tips for making small changes in your practice.

Tip number one, take time to channel your feelings into a journal.

Taking time to discover and reflect on the feelings that you’re having each day will allow you to open your heart to new thoughts. It can help clear your head space for a restorative flow routine. This is also a time where you can really discover where you want to go or how you want to handle the situations ahead.  Also by preparing time for yourself within your schedule you have less room for excuses. There's no strict guidelines, writings can be as short or as long as you feel necessary to release the stress from within.

Tip number two, switch up your practice space.

Sometimes when we get comfortable in a space or mindset we often forget why we started. No matter what level you practice yoga or how you direct your daily flow, there is something within your heart that welcomes your practice into your life. Somewhere along the way you desired balance, peace, and growth in your life.  So we encourage you to take this passion, pack up your practice, or maybe just take yourself to a new space that can help you remember which special pieces made you begin.

Tip number three, try out a new rhythm within your flow.

You would be amazed at the energy that can come from trying out something new. Change can be scary and our inner fear of failure often holds us back from reaching outside the box. So if you’re feeling in a rut or finding that you don’t enjoy your daily practice like you used to, switch it up. There are hundreds of amazing ways to experience yoga, it’s all about finding the energy levels and instructors that speak to your heart while challenging your body.

These are just three tips that can help you get over a plateau within your practice and fun welcome change in your life.
